Contravening a Traffic Sign

Contravening a traffic sign includes offences such as going through a red traffic light, ignoring a one way street sign or turning left or right when the traffic signs say that you are not allowed to.

These offences carry 3 points  and a fine of up to £1000.

You can defend these allgations if you can show that you didn't contravene the direction given by the sign, or you can show that the sign did not conform with the rules set down in the Traffic Signs and General Regulations (in relation to size/colour/illumination etc).

Contravening a Traffic Sign

If you have been accused of contravening a traffic sign then ask a question and we will try and help you.

If you had a good reason for contravening the sign (an emergency for example) then we might be able to help you try and avoid the points with a special reasons argument.
