You wont lose your licence if the offence happened before you passed your test. You only get revoked if you accumulate 6 or more points and the offence was during the probationary period. Have you got any other points on your licence? You will have to be really careful if you get these points because any more and you will be revoked instantly.
You maybe at risk of a discretionary ban though for a short period. Would you lie my help dealing with your mitigation. I maybe able to help you avoid having to attend court.
