Driving without due care and attention
Nov 3, 2010
The other person caused the collision and she drove off as well.
My son was involved in a minor bump when a woman ran into him at a roundabout and they both drove off. My son is now being charged on 3 counts - driving without due care and attention, failing to stop at a traffic accident and failing to report a traffic accident.
We have had no contact from the woman for an insurance claim so there is no or very lttle damage to her car,, especially as she ran into him. And we suspect that she has reported the incident to the police.
How can this happen when she drove off as well.

She will probably claim that she did stop as soon as it was safe to do so but that your son didn't. He is at risk of 5-10 points Im afraid. Is he a new driver? if so he will have his licence revoked if he gets 6 or more penalty points.
Would you like my help with this matter? I maybe able to negotiate with the CPS to reduce the charges and maybe even get him on the driver improvement course as an alternative to prosecution.
Come back to me if I can assist further and I will be happy to help.
