Defective NIP

can i appeal when i recieved the nip 14 days after the offence

Answer:

That depends. Are you the registered keeper of the vehicle? If not then the NIP only has to be sent to the registered keeper within 14 days - if that's not you then the rule doesn't apply.

If you are the registered keeper have you moved recently or have you only just bought the car.

There are exceptions to the rule so you have to be careful. How long after the 14 days did you get the NIP?

Have you got any points already?

You must still name the driver of the car - a defective NIP is not a defence to an allegation of failing to name the driver.

If you still think the NIP is defective come back to me.
