The 14 day rule
I was driving a works car. The NIP was served on the registered keeper more than 14 days after the offence. Will the fact that they have subsequently served a notice on myself as the driver alter the 14 day rule. Is the rule that it must haveb een served on the registered keeper within 14 working days still?

Are you sure? Does the company own the van and is the company the registered keeper? Or is it leased from another company? You still have to respond and name the driver at the time of the alleged road traffic offence - but you may have a defence to the allegation if we can show that the NIP was defective.
Make sure that the NIP was served on the registered keeper (on the v5 log book) outside of the 14 days and then come back to me.

Do not use online letter packs that claim to "Get yourself off a Speeding Ticket - Guaranteed!"
No two cases are the same. You must not mislead the police. A pro forma letter is not necessarily going to be relevant to the cirmcumstances of your case.
The road traffic police have seen them all a thousand times before.

This case represents our toughest battle to date. It was a battle at every stage involving Magistrates, District Judges, Court Clerks, Cps lawyers and Crown Court Judges. The argument was all about whether a road was public or private.
