Holding a mobile phone but not using it.
I was stopped by a single police officer for holding my mobile phone, both my hands were on the steering wheel at the time.I was not making a call or texting. I can prove it.
Is it illegal just to hold a phone while driving?even though you are not using it

Its not an offence to hold a mobile whilst driving (unless the offence alleged is not being in proper control of the vehicle). Its only an offence to use a handheld mobile whilst driving.
Have you got a ticket or a summons to court.
If you can show that no calls were made or received (or texts) at the relevant time then you will have a strong defence.
Have you got any points already? If so how many?
