Speeding
I don't accept that I was speeding and the officer made a mistake on the registration number.
Have recieved a fixed penalty notice that i don't believe i was guilty of doing the claimed speed i am being accused of.
Also the Officer hasn't put the correct registration of the vehicle in question on the ticket.
Would just like to seek some advice on taking the matter to court.
Regards
If you are going to take the matter to court then you need to be confident that you can cast a doubt on the officer allegation that you were speeding. You have to cast a doubt to win, he has to convince the court beyond reasonable doubt for you to lose.
The fact that he has taken down the wrong registration number will either be accepted as a mistake by the court or they will decide that it affects the reliability of the officer's evidence in general. Were you stopped at the scene of the alleged offence? Did the officer get the right make and model of car in the ticket?
What's the speed alleged? have you got any points already?
Tell me more and I may be able to help further. Bear in mind if you take it to court and lose you will get higher fines and court costs and possibly more penalty points depending on the speed alleged.
