No insurance - driving in public place?
Can I be prosecuted for having no car insurance whilst inside a hm dockyard which is private land? I was at the time a named driver on another policy

Answer:
It all depends on whether or not the dockyard is open to the public. If it is then it is classed as a public place for the purposes of the road traffic acts.
Is it open to the public? Are there any barriers/security gates stopping the public getting in?
Tell me more.
I may be able to get this matter withdrawn for you if its not open to the public.
Have you got any points on your licence? You are looking at 6-8 for this.
