No white lines
what happens if there are no white lines to provide secondary check?

If its an unmanned GATSO and there is no method of conducting a secondary check then the device is not being used in accordance with home office approval and the evidence from it is not admissible in court.
They do sometimes claim that they can use photometry to work out the distance travelled in the two photos and this is an acceptable alternative to the white lines on the road.
Call the police and ask if it was a GATSO. It might have been a red speed device which uses pressure pads under the road.
