Speeding

My sat nav says different!
I have never had a speeding ticket in over 10 years driving and an annual mileage of 15,000.
I was recorded at 36mph by a LTI 20, but question the accuracy of this.
The reason is I have a sat Nav which gives a MPH reading which tends to be below my speedo reading and as a result if I exceed the limit it is always marginal say 32mph and for a short period.
The second reason is it looked as if the police Officer used a hand held gun, but I did see a tripod set up.
Is there a way I can ask for further information regards calibrations and checks without risking further costs/points

Im afraid that you would have to ask for a court hearing and reject the ticket to have the right to see further evidence. The fixed penalty system is designed to be fast and cheap so the police will rarely get involved in communicating back and forth at this stage.
If you were to contest the matter but admit in court that you may have been doing 32mph the court will still convict you....so be careful.
IĀ understand your point about the sat nav but the court generally accept that the LTI 20/20 is really reliable unless you can genuinely cast a doubt on the way it was actually used.
If you take it to court you wouldn't get higher points just higher fines and court costs.
