Have you been summonsed to court for this matter or just warned by the police that you will be? Have you got any points already or are you a new driver? You are at risk of 6-8 points for this and a hefty fine.
you will have a defence to this matter if you can show that you did not give permission to the person in question or if you believed that they were covered and this was a reasonable belief. You have to make it a pre condition of use that they were covered before you let them use you car.
We get lots of these cases withdrawn without the need for a trial.
