The police have to send you a notice of intended prosecution within 14 days of the alleged offence unless they have trouble tracking you down or you are not the registered keeper of the car in question.
Are you the registered keeper? have you got any points already?
If you know who was driving then you have to name the driver otherwise you risk 6 points for failing to do so Im afraid.
