My mum was driving
I hired a vehicle from europcar on my name and i was the only person allowed to drive the vehicle during the hire period, unfortunetly due to unforceen circumstance my mother had to drive the vehicle to the chemist and in doing so got flashed by a camera doing 42mph in a 30mph zone.
My question is my mum was not insured at the time to drive the vehicle am i ok saying that it was my mother who was driving at the time will the fine people ask for insurance.
Many Thanks.

Have you got any points on your licence already? if so how many? The police maybe suspicious that you are trying to avoid taking the points yourself.
If your mother was the driver then you should name her. if the police accept that - they are unlikely to check the insurance issue as long as she admits being the driver.
You could get into trouble for permitting her to drive without insurance thogh if the police do follow it up.
You have to tell the truth when you respond to these forms otherwsei you can get into more trouble
