You could be accused of driving not in accordance with your licence and get 3 points. If the police are feeling really nasty then you could get 6-8 points for no insurance if the police take the view that your insurance would have been invalidated by the driving licence offence.
Don't do it unless you want to risk 6-8 penalty points on your new licence.
