Driving without insurance

The car is uninsured, but I am insured
Hi there,
Could you please answer my question? I can't find answer for that...
My insurance policy allows me to drive any motor car (with the consent of the owner). I sometimes drive my wife's car, but she does not have insurance for that car at all. Is this legal?

You can drive your wife's car as long as you are covered to drive a car belonging to another person with their permission. However the moment you step out of the car its uninsured and the police could prosecute your wife for having use of the car (they don't have to prove she actually drove it) on a public road or in a public place. This will put her at risk of 6-8 points if you leave the car anywhere including on the road outside of your house.
