Driving without insurance

I was told that I was covered by trade insurance

Alleged Offence: driving without insurance
Your road traffic offence question: I was driving and went over the limit, thats why the police initially stopped me. They checked my insurance and because it was my friends car they said i wasn't insured because on my policy it says i cant drive other cars, however my freind said he had car dealers insurance therfore i was covered. It was about 12pm. Then there was confusion on how long he had had the car for because apparently its only valid for 3 weeks. I have now been summoned to court but hadnt received any previous letters. I no longer speak to this freind and never saw his insurance document so i dont know where i stand in the laws eyes? Or what i should plead as i honestly thought i was covered. Regards

You have a special reasons argument to try and avoid the points if you were driving under the genuine and reasonable impression that you were insured at the time of the alleged offence. It doesn't necessarily matter that you are not in touch with this person anymore.
Have you got any points on your licence already? If so how many? Are you a new driver?
A special reasons argument involves given evidence at court and asking for a special hearing.
If you would like my help with this matter I will be happy to assist - we maybe able to get the proceedings withdrawn without the need to a trial.
