How Far Away Can They Spot Me

Question:

I was photographed from a van parked on the verge on the inside of the pavement, and was snapped at a distance of over 350 meters while coming round a bend.

Are these cameras accurate at this distance when used with telephoto lenses. How far away are they accurate? I have a copy of the police photo which also shows a car behind me going in the opposite direction.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Louise Says:

These cameras are accurate up to around 2000 feet, so around 600 meters or so. So they often see you way before you see them. In your case the device would have been working well within its capabilities.

You should be able to see cross hairs on your vehicle as well. This will show that the device was on your car rather than the one going the opposite way.

Have you got any points already? If so, how many?
