Wrong Offence Code

Question:

Does the offence code have to be right in accordance with the alleged offence on the fixed penalty notice or could that be put down as incompetence by the officer writing the offence

The offence code is not part of the evidence. The evidence of the speed has to be accurate and reliable. What the officer puts on the ticket is not evidence and will not help you defend the allegation.
