14 Day Rule

Question:

I have received today 17/4/x a letter of notification for speeding which states it took place on 20/2/x. (38mph in 30mph zone) Surely I should have received this within this 14 day rule of the offence taking place.

I have heard that if you are not informed in writing within 2/4 weeks then it is null and void. Is this correct?

Rob Says:

Are you the registered keeper of the car? The 14 day rule only applies to sending the NIP to the last known address of the registered keeper of the car.

If you are the keeper but you have only just bought the car or moved recently then there are other exceptions to the rules.
