Can I Appeal Dangerous Driving Conviction After 9 Months?

Question:

9 months ago my son (AGED 17 at the time) was convicted of dangerous driving. However it was stated that he was not driving dangerously but the scooter was in a dangerous condition.

Since the offence took place and getting to court (9 months) he had passed his full driving test so was banned for a year and now will have a Dangerous Driving offence on his licence. I feel this is wrong so can we do anything now?

Emma Says:

I’m afraid not. You would have to get leave to appeal the conviction out of time and you are unlikely to succeed. You are supposed to appeal within 21 days of conviction. You can of course try. Sorry.
