At Risk Of A Driving Ban Or Revocation If I Get 6 Points On My Driving Licence

Question:

Speeding 76mph in a 50mph zone. Had I been going 1 mile less, I wouldn’t have been summoned to court. I have never been in trouble with the law for anything and need my car for work.

I have a European licence, held since April x

How many points have you got on your licence from the last 3 years: none

How long have you been driving: April x

Louise Says:

You are in the top bracket of the magistrates sentencing guidelines and this mean that you will be at risk of a driving ban for up to 56 days. If you persuade the court to give you 6 points you will be at risk of revocation under the new drivers act – so this will need to be handled with care.

Have you got a hearing date? If so, when and which court?

You will have to attend because the court will not deal with you in your absence when you are at risk of a driving ban.

It’s good that you have a clean driving licence and that will help.
