I Sent The Information

Question:

I got notice saying I had gone through a red light, so I filled in my details and sent the information request back, after 3 months I got a letter saying I did not send my details so I’m liable for arrest and a fine of 1000 pounds,

What can I do?

Should I send the stuff again?

Dominic Says:

I’m afraid that the police did not receive your response to the request for driver identity information. This has led to them assuming that you didn’t send it. You have now been summons for failing to name the driver and you are at risk of 6 points and a hefty fine.

Have you got any points already? If so, how many? Are you a new driver?

You have a defence to the allegation and if what you have said is true you should plead not guilty on the basis that you gave the information required.

I can help you defend this matter and I get over 80% of these cases withdrawn without the need for a trial. Come back to me if you would like my help and I will be happy to assist further.

There is no point in sending the information again – its too late. They have to get it within 28 days of the request being received.
