I was going from the M60 east where it joins M60 north on a round about then coming off the slip road where it meets M60 north I cut across the thick white central lines (chevrons) and then got pulled over and police man said I would get 3 points on my licence and £60 fine is there anything I can do?
I don’t think this is fair and no licence, no job and me and my kids all because of one silly mistake and I was never told about the chevron lines anyway by my instructor as I have never taken motorway lessons.
Have you got any points already? If so, how many?
I’m afraid you have committed the offence of contravening a traffic sign which does carry 3 points and a fine.
You would not be able to defend the matter on the basis that you didn’t know it was an offence I’m afraid.
Why are you going to lose your licence? Are you a new driver or have you got 9 points already? Tell me more.
