Moving Vehicle Into Storage

Question:

I was caught driving without insurance last night but as I explained to the officer the car was just being transported to a place of storage. But apparently unbeknown to me I apparently had to have insurance. Would just like a bit of advice please?

Paula Says:

I’m afraid that you have to have insurance if you drive a vehicle on a road, no matter what the purpose of the journey.

How long have you been driving? You are going to get 6-8 points for this offence I’m afraid. Who did the car belong to? Have you got any other insurance policies in your name.

Tell me more.

If you are a new driver you will be at risk of having to do a full retest for this offence.
