New Driver – No Insurance

Question:

Hi, I would like to let u know that I had car crashed few days ago and wasn’t my fault, I have been driving for two years with valid UK licence also insured since day one.

However, now my insurance company told me they have cancelled my insurance policy last week and the reason is I didn’t post my driving licence to them, which I did last year but this year they never ask me to do so.

So I was driving unaware with no insurance. I would be very grateful if you can provide me some useful advice? Thank you

Paula Says:

You may have a special reasons argument to avoid any penalty points. Have you got any points already?

If you get 6 points on your licence and you are within the first two years after passing your test your licence will be revoked and you will have to do a full retest I’m afraid.

I can help you with this matter. Have the police become involved yet? Have you been warned that you are going to be summonsed to court? Tell me more.
