Any Point In Appealing?

Question:

My wife was flashed doing 35mph when the speed limit dropped to 30mph. She was decelerating but did not make it in time.
She was driving my father, brother, and me back from the Registrar after we recorded the sudden death of my mother.
Is there any point appealing?

Louise Says:

If she accepts that she was doing the speed alleged then I am afraid there is no point in appealing. You can only avoid points etc if you can say that you were not speeding and cast a doubt on the police evidence or if there were special reasons.

Special reasons would be rushing to someone’s hospital bed and I am afraid that whilst I have a huge amount of sympathy I don’t think the court will find special reasons in this case.

Has you wife got any points already?
